Portobella ravioli & turkey meatballs

Tonight I was in the mood for Italian, so I made Trader Joe's Portobella Ravioli. (you find it in the refrigerated section) It's really good - with little chunks of provolone cheese inside with the mushroom filling - YUM. The package has 11 decent sized ravioli, so we split it - 5 1/2 for each of us.

We had it with some ultra-low calorie sauce, and 5 decent sized meatballs that I made from ground turkey breast a few weeks ago and froze. It's the funniest thing. I was never much of a cook before we moved here, but the one thing I made that was almost always good, that Frank even bragged about sometimes, was my homemade red sauce. I took the lessons I learned from my (100% Italian) mother-in-law to heart, and I made a pretty decent tasting one according to my hubby, who comes from a huge family of excellent Italian cooks. But then we moved here and I tried at least a half a dozen times to make it, but it always sucked. Badly. After several tries, I gave up and turned to sauce in the jar. (I know, I know - the horror!) There are only a select few I'll buy though, because too many of them taste like they're pretty heavily laced with sugar. (ew!) So anyway, this is Ferrara Neopolitan Tomato & Basil sauce. It's the closest to homemade tasting jar sauce we've ever had. (I can only find it at Price Rite on Gold Star Blvd in Worcester) The Ferrara Marinara Sauce is pretty good too.

Of course we had this with a salad, but I'm not going to post a picture of the same salad every night. Frank sprinkled Reduced Fat Grated Parmesan on his ravioli & meatballs, but I forgot to put it on mine this time. (very unusual for me!) Anyway, this yummy dinner was 12 points. Mmm, mmm good!
