A mid-summer night's YUM-FEST
Tonight was a "summer cookout" night. Except for the corn. Which was cooked IN. (1 point for one, 2.5 points for two)
Frank cooked our 4 oz., 96% lean beef burgers on the hibachi. (3 points for one, 6.5 for two)
As I said in another post recently, Frank & I still each get just over 30 points per day, so a larger point meal doesn't kill us if we only do it once or twice a week. Today is the last day of our WW week (we weigh in tomorrow morning), so we planned our day to accomodate the 14 point meal. (meaning: we ate lightly, so by suppertime we were HUNGRY!) Plus we have loads of flex points and activity points left. (I actually exercised this week - yay!)
Cheeseburgers with real beef! YUM! (I usually use ground turkey breast or veggie burgers, but we occasionally have the treat of real beef, albeit extremely LEAN beef) One burger is only 5 points (1 point for the light wheat bun, 3 points for the burger, and 1 point for the Weight Watchers singles slice of cheese, and 0 points for the pickles, onions, mustard & little bit of ketsup), and two burgers is 11.5 points.
Mmmmmm... the corn was plump and sweet and oh-so-good! We use 0 point Smart Balance Spray on the corn. (yay for 0 point anything!) I also felt like being 'naughty' tonight and had some diet ginger ale with my dinner. I don't usually drink soda because I know it's not good for me, but I was in a "soda goes with burgers" mood tonight. I'll drink extra water later to make up for it. So as I said, dinner was 14 points. (eek!) And my happy tummy is F-U-L-L. :)
