Whole wheat gnocchi & veggie sausage

So last night's dinner was veggie Italian sausage with Vito Marcello Fra Diavolo Sauce (VERY good! I was impressed), and whole wheat gnocchi. Let me just say, OMG-YUM!

This is the faux Italian sausage. (I got it at Hannaford, but I also saw it at Stop & Shop) Frank calls it "fausage". Isn't he clever? :P Anyway, for "sausage" without any actual meat in it, it was really pretty good. The spices in it made it taste like Italian sausage. Seriously. It's a keeper - another addition to our "yum!" list. :) (2 points for one link, 5 points for two - there are 4 to a package) Another plus - they went from freezer to "done!" in about 10 minutes.

Two things I love about gnocchi are how hearty & filling it is, and how quickly it cooks. (3 min after it's dumped into the boiling water) 3 points for one serving, but 8 points for two servings. Yeah - EIGHT. But Frank and I are still getting over 30 points a day, so a 14 point meal at the end of the week (when we still have almost all of our flex points & all of our activity points) isn't a big deal.

Two servings of gnocchi on a luncheon plate. Our appetites have decreased since we started Weight Watchers, but they're still a bit bigger than they should be. As our points allowance continues to go down though, I'm sure our appetites will continue to slowly adapt and decrease.

This was a DELICIOUS dinner! :)
